Travel to the UK
The United Kingdom has direct flights from most major countries worldwide.

Major UK airports with easy access to Oxford include:

  • London Heathrow (LHR)
  • London Gatwick (LGW)
  • Birmingham (BHX)
  • London Stansted (STN)
  • Manchester (MAN)
  • Bristol (BRS)
  • London City (LCY)
  • Southampton (SOU)

Heathrow and Gatwick are the largest and most well-connected.

Travel to Oxford
Various connections are available to the conference venue in Oxford:

  • The Airline coach service run by the Oxford Bus Company is departs regularly from Heathrow and Gatwick. It is inexpensive, comfortable and has good amenities on-board. Seats must be booked in advance.
  • Regular trains travel from all over the country to Oxford and return trips also reasonably priced if booked in advance. Note that there are no direct routes from the airports to Oxford, so a change of train will be required. The Trainline is an excellent and straight-forward train-booking website.
  • Taxis are available from all airports, but will be expensive if not booked in advance.

Travel Arrangements on Friday the 16th
Delegates will be returned to St. Anne's College as normal at 17:30 after the tours of the CCFE site. An additional coach is available at lunch-time, returning those who need to get back to St. Anne's earlier. Delegates who wish to depart CCFE directly to airports by taxi at their own expense may confirm their requirements on a sign-up sheet throughout the week and suitable taxis will be booked.

Visa Information
Participants needing letters of invitation for visa applications should submit their request to the conference administrator.
